The 3rd of April saw 297 participants take to the stairs of the office tower of the iconic Jumeirah Emirates Towers at the UAE’s leading vertical marathon in support of Al Jalila Foundation.
Dubai Holding in partnership with Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Talise Fitness raised a record AED 335,000, all proceeds of which will support the foundation’s medical research in the UAE on obesity.
Doubling the participation from last year, the 2015 edition saw 297 participants climb the 1,334 steps, 265 metres, 52 floors, to the top of Jumeirah Emirates Towers’ office building. Talise Fitness was proud to support with a team of 9 members and colleagues participating in the event across Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Madinat Jumeirah and Jumeirah Emirates Towers facilities. The fastest team time of 13:27 minutes went to Madinat Jumeirah, followed by 15:00 minutes by Jumeirah Emirates Towers and 18:56 by Jumeirah Beach Hotel.
The fastest female runner Emilie Rentsch reached the top in 11:50 minutes and the winning male runner, Paul Faulkner, ascended in 7:56 minutes. The fastest team, ‘3 and a half men’ completed the race in 11 minutes
